  16. This disk is a double-sided disk. All
  17. of the programs that will run under
  18. ProDOS are on the ProDOS formatted
  19. front side of the disk, and all that
  20. will run under DOS 3.3 are on the back
  21. side of the disk. Some programs will
  22. run under both operating systems and
  23. are included on both sides of this
  24. disk.

  26. You're currently using the ProDOS side
  27. of the disk.
  28. @
  29. Before using the programs on this disk,
  30. you should make a work disk for each
  31. program. This can be done by first
  32. making a complete copy of the disk with
  33. one of the following programs:
  34.  
  35. * COPYA (DOS 3.3 System Master)
  36. * FILER (ProDOS Utilities Disk)
  37. * The Apple IIc or Apple IIGS
  38.   Utilities Disk
  39. * Any Disk Copy Program
  40.  
  41. Then boot the copied disk and delete
  42. all of the files that are not related
  43. to the program by using the DELETE
  44. command. The System Utilities program
  45. also has an option to DELETE files.

  47. You will not be able to delete the
  48. titles that we've placed in the catalog
  49. to separate files. However, these will
  50. not interfere with the operation of the
  51. programs.
  52.  
  53. The screen displays that follow show
  54. the files needed to create working
  55. copies of each program.

  57. To create a work disk for NIBBLE
  58. ALMANAC, remove all but the following
  59. files from a copy of this disk:
  60.  
  61. ALMANAC.START
  62. READ80.S
  63. NIBBLE.ALMANAC (the entire folder
  64.                 and its contents)
  65.  
  66. NIBBLE ALMANAC comes with a sample
  67. database consisting of the Notable
  68. Events from March, and the Yearly
  69. Highlights from 1970 and 1980.

  73. To erase the sample database, delete
  74. the following files:
  75.  
  76. YEARS, YEAR.1970, YEAR.1980, and
  77. EVENTS.3

  79. and then rerun the program.

  84. To create a work disk for TEXT EDITOR
  85. PART II, remove all but the following 
  86. files from a copy of this disk:

  92. These programs are included only on the
  93. ProDOS side of this disk.
  94. These programs are not included as an
  95. option in the program menu because they
  96. require special instructions. See the
  97. documentation for details.

  100. RES GRAPHICS, remove all but the
  101. following file from a copy of this 
  102. disk:

  106. This program is included only on the
  107. ProDOS side of the disk. 
  108. It is not included as an option in the
  109. program menu because it requires 
  110. special instructions. See the

  114. SCROLLER, remove all but the following 
  115. file from a copy of this disk:

  119. This program is included on both the
  120. DOS 3.3 and ProDOS sides of this disk.

  122. In addition, we've placed a copy of the
  123. CHECKIT program on this disk. CHECKIT
  124. is a utility published in every issue
  125. of Nibble that aids in typing in
  126. programs from the magazine. See the
  127. Typing Tips in the latest issue of
  128. Nibble for details on using CHECKIT.

  130. The One- and Two-Liners are also
  131. included on this disk.

  133. The source code files for the major
  134. assembly language programs have been
  135. included on this side of the disk.
  136. These files are included expressly for
  137. experienced programmers.  These files
  138. cannot be used unless you own the
  139. appropriate assembler.
